Prepare Well Before Your Lesson!
Tips and Preparation
Organisation:
- Arrive early at the meeting point shown on the lesson map.
- Always bring your lesson card, including for private lessons (mandatory).
- Ski passes are not included in the lesson price. They may be available as an optional add-on when booking for certain levels. Make sure you are equipped.
- esf does not provide personal accident coverage. Ensure you have adequate insurance; if not, we recommend Carré Neige.
- Warm up properly, pace your effort, eat a balanced meal, and stay hydrated to fully enjoy your skiing experience!
On the Slopes:
- A piste map is essential for skiing safely. Pick one up on arrival and keep it handy.
- Each morning, check the weather forecast, the status of pistes and lifts, and snow conditions. If in doubt, ask an instructor, guide, or piste patrol member
Equipment and Safety:
- Equipment is not provided. Rent gear suitable for your level, size, and weight. Seek advice from specialist shops. Equipment complying with NF X50-007 ensures proper fitting and safe binding adjustment.
- Wearing a helmet is strongly recommended, especially for children. Choose a model meeting NF EN 1077 standards.
- Protect yourself from cold and UV: wear a helmet, gloves, goggles (UV index 4), warm clothing, and apply sunscreen, even in cloudy conditions !
Off-piste:
- Off-piste skiing is reserved for experienced skiers who are properly equipped and knowledgeable about mountain conditions.
- When skiing outside marked pistes, you do so at your own risk: cliffs, crevasses, steep slopes, and avalanches are not marked.
- Do not rely on visible tracks as they may have been made by machines or other skiers.
- Before heading off-piste:
- Check snow conditions and avalanche risk levels.
- Pay attention to avalanche flags and signs posted at key points in the resort.
- Consult piste patrol, guides, or instructors.
- Check the avalanche risk report from Météo-France (0 892 68 10 20* – 3615 METEO) or as posted in the resort Météo-France.
