Is the ski pass included in the lesson price?
No, the ski pass is not included in the cost of the lessons. However, it can be offered as an optional add-on when booking online.

Tip: A discounted lift pass is available for students enrolled in 6-day group lessons at the Grands Débutants, Flocon, and 1ʳᵉ Étoile levels, as well as for beginner teens and adults.

Is the insurance included in the lesson price?
Students are not covered by the school’s insurance. We recommend Carré Neige insurance, which can be added as an optional extra when booking your lesson.

Little Ones

Does my child need a ski pass?
  • Ski passes are not required for lessons at Club Piou Piou.
  • If your little one goes on the slopes, the ski pass is free for children under 5 (on presentation of proof of age).
How should I dress my child?
  • Warm, comfortable, and waterproof jacket, trousers, or ski suit.
  • Mittens rather than fingered gloves.
  • Sunglasses or ski goggles (secured with a strap) with a minimum UV protection of 3.
How should I equip my child?
  • Boots should fit properly, worn with a single pair of socks.
  • Skis: tips should reach chin height. Trust the professionals for adjustments.
  • No ski poles for the Club Piou Piou, nor for Ourson and Flocon lessons.
  • Wearing a helmet is essential.
Can we attend the Club Piou Piou sessions?
It’s natural to want to watch your child, but they’ll spot you quickly! This can lead to tears or reduce their motivation to ski.

It’s better to request a feedback session at the end of the lesson. If there’s any issue, we already have your contact number and will get in touch immediately
Should I give my child a snack?
Your child can bring a cereal bar and/or a fruit purée drink in their pockets
What if my child is tired or feeling cold?
It’s snack time! This is when young children can rest and regain their energy, ensuring that skiing remains a fun experience!

Children

What if my child has never skied before?
Children aged 6 who have never skied should be enrolled in the Grand Débutant (Beginner) lessons. By the end of the week, they will be assessed for the Ourson or Flocon level, depending on their progress.

Team Rider Course

What equipment is essential for this course?
Your child should have:
  • ski pass,
  • properly adjusted ski equipment,
  • appropriate clothing,
  • goggles or sunglasses,
  • protective gear (helmet, shorts, back protector, etc.),
  • water and sunscreen,
  • piste map, telephone.
Which skis are required for this course?
Relatively wide, twin-tipped backcountry skis, similar in size to freestyle skis

Competition Course

What equipment is required for this course?
  • Giant slalom piste skis suitable for your level (check with the resort’s sports shops).
  • Back protector and helmet are strongly recommended.

Off-piste Course

What equipment is required for this course?
  • Off-piste skis suitable for your level (check with the resort’s sports shops).
  • Helmet strongly recommended.
  • Safety pack including avalanche transceiver, shovel, and probe is provided.

Snowboard

Are protections required for this activity?
  • Wearing a helmet is strongly recommended.
  • For beginners, wrist guards and protective shorts are also advised.
My child has never snowboarded before. Any advice?
Snowboarding is recommended for children who have reached the 3ème étoile level in skiing, except for those who already practice skateboarding or surfing.
Can I sign up for Snowboarding even if I’ve never skied before?
Yes. Snowboarding and skiing are two completely different disciplines, and it’s possible to start snowboarding without any prior skiing experience.

Private Lessons

Are insurance and the ski pass included in the lesson price? ?
No, insurance and the lift pass are not included in the lesson price. For more information, please see our dedicated pages: "Take out insurance" and  "How to choose a ski pass".
Do you recommend private lessons for beginner children?
In many cases, private lessons are recommended to help beginner children overcome their natural apprehension of skiing
When should I book private lessons?
Private lessons depend on the availability of our instructors, which can vary greatly throughout the season. For this reason, we recommend booking your lessons as early as possible!
Do you recommend private lessons for beginner skiers?
Private lessons can often be more beneficial than group lessons for children who are nervous, need reassurance, and prefer to progress at their own pace
Is it possible to share the same instructor?
Yes, if everyone is at the same (or a very similar) level. However, if there are too many differences in skills, the results may not be satisfactory for everyone.
When should I book my half-day or full-day outings?
Half-day and full-day outings depend on the availability of our instructors, which can vary greatly throughout the season. For this reason, we recommend booking your outings as early as possible.
What equipment is required for these lessons?
Specialised telemark equipment is essential: while the skis may look the same, the bindings differ from those used in alpine skiing. Please check with one of the resort’s rental shops.
Is Telemark skiing suitable for beginners?
To learn Telemark in the best conditions, a Class 4 Expert level (or Étoile d’Or) in alpine skiing is required.

Children's House

What should I bring for my child?
  • A health record showing that all mandatory vaccinations in France are up to date.
  • A pacifier clip (mandatory for hygiene reasons).
  • Comforters or soft toys, clearly labelled with your child’s name.
  • Nappies and wipes are provided by the childcare centre.
How is lunch handled? Do I need to provide my child’s food?
  • Lunch is provided for ALL children and is prepared by professional catering staff.
  • The lunch price also covers supervision time.
  • For babies, please only bring powdered milk.
  • For strict dietary requirements or allergies, a health action plan (PAI) will be requested from the family. In these cases, the family will need to provide their child’s lunch.
Is a snack provided?
  • Snacks are provided for children in the nursery (yogurt and fruit purée).
  • For children aged 3–12 (Marmottes and Cabris), families should provide an individually packed snack. Please do not include dairy products that require refrigeration.
